LEE, NY : 6 head to hospital after 2-car Lee collision on Sunday, March 12th 2017
A Sunday night two-car collision sent six to the hospital.
The 8:49 p.m. March 12 incident occurred at the intersection of Palmer and Lee Center Taberg roads in Lee, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
Kevin D. Williams, 51, of Cleveland, was driving his 2005 Dodge south on Lee Center Taberg Road and at the same time, Traci M. Sipley, 37, no address given, was driving her 2008 Volkswagen, south on Palmer Road approaching the intersection of Lee Center Taberg Road.
Sipley was unable to stop her vehicle before entering the intersection and the front of Williams' Dodge struck the driver's side front of Sipley's Volkswagen resulting in face and arm injuries for Sipley.
Passengers in Sipley's vehicle: Carmelo Joubert, 33, of Rome sustained injuries to his head and back, and Jose Heredia, 35, of Utica sustained injuries to his face and head.
Alivia H. Delpapa, 8 years old, was not injured in the collision.
Sipley, Delpapa and Heredia were transported to St. Elizabeth's campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System for evaluation and treatment. Joubert was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital.
Kevin Williams sustained injuries to his back and was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital for evaluation, along with Brenda L. Williams, 47, of Cleveland, who was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital for chest pain sustained in the collision.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police and the Lee Center Fire Department.
Sipley is to appear at a later date for a traffic violation at Lee Town Court.
