Pittsburgh, PA : Bus driver, two passengers injured in Brentwood crash on Wednesday, September 28, 2016
A Port Authority bus driver and two passengers were injured this morning when their vehicle was struck from behind by an SUV pushed into it by a passing tanker truck on Route 51 in Brentwood.
Port Authority spokesman Adam Brandolph said a Y1 Large Flyer bus was broken down and stopped on the right inbound lane of Route 51 and Marylea Avenue at about 9:20 a.m. when a tanker, which was attempting to go around the bus, struck and SUV and pushed it into the rear of the bus.
The bus driver was taken to UPMC Mercy. One passenger was taken to the Veterans Administration Hospital and transferred to UPMC Presbyterian and the other passenger went to Jefferson Regional medical Center. None of the injuries is believed to be life-threatening, Mr. Brandolph said.
No one in the other vehicles was injured.
