Seattle,WA : Motorcyclist killed in crash along I-5 at I-90 in Seattle on July, Tuesday 4th 2017
A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday morning in a crash that ejected him off a ramp and into traffic at downtown Seattle's major freeway interchange linking Interstate 5 and Interstate 90.
Washington State Patrol investigators remained on scene as of about 10:15 a.m., with only one northbound lane of I-5 open to traffic. In a tweet, troopers said they expected to reopen the freeway soon.
State troopers responded to the busy interchange at about 7:25 a.m. after receiving reports that a motorcycle had crashed. The motorcyclist's body was found lying in the freeway below an exit ramp.
A preliminary investigation found that the cyclist was heading south on I-5 and took the exit to eastbound I-90 at high speed, then lost control. He was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown over the railing.
He then fell into the northbound lanes of I-5 below and landed on top of a passenger car that was traveling at freeway speed. He was flung off the car and into the roadway, where it's believed he was run over by one or two more vehicles.
