Seattle, WA : Man arrested after carjacking and police chase in North Seattle on Monday afternoon, November 10, 2014
One is injured and another in police custody while Seattle police investigate a Fremont carjacking that turned into a crash in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, roads at the Phinney Ridge scene are closed off pending detectives’ investigation and a clean-up of the scene.
Witnesses told police a man reportedly stole a car from a woman about 3 p.m. near North 44th Street and Woodland Park Ave North, hit the woman with her own car and sped off, leading to a police chase, according to Seattle police.
Officers responded to the area and found the vehicle, which rammed two separate patrol cars during the case, reports say.
The stolen car then crashed in the area of North 68th Street and Dayton Avenue North – what it crashed into is unknown to police spokesmen so far.
Police detained the driver at the scene and witnesses at the Fremont scene claimed the driver was the carjacker.
The woman was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, North 68th Street was closed between Phinney Avenue North and Fremont Avenue North.
Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
