Lehigh Acres, FL : 21-year-old man injured after a motorcycle crash in Lehigh Acres on Sunday evening, February 8, 2015

A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash in Lehigh Acres Sunday evening.

The motorcyclist identified as, Jason Bieda, of Lehigh Acres, was traveling eastbound on 51st Street SW, approaching Alabama Road South at around 7:30 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Bieda failed to see a canal that divides 51st Street SW and crashed into a warning sign for the canal -- then traveled partially over the canal.

The GXZ 750 Suzuki landed in the canal and Bieda was ejected. He was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert. He was wearing a helmet during the crash.
