Pittsburgh, PA : Woman killed in pedestrian accident Downtown on Saturday morning, February 25, 2017
An Oakdale woman died this morning after she was struck by a shuttle bus while walking along the street in Downtown.
Kristine Lerie, 46, was walking on Fifth Avenue near the intersection with Grant Street around 7 a.m. when she was hit by a bus, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office and police said.
Paramedics took Ms. Lerie to UPMC Mercy, where she was pronounced dead at 8:07 a.m.
Pittsburgh police said the initial investigation indicates the woman was in the crosswalk when she was struck at 7:03 a.m. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
