College Station, TX : Two people die, 3 injured in wrong-way traffic wreck in College Station on Sunday, May 8, 2016
Two drivers have been killed and three people hurt — including a police officer — as part of a wrong-way traffic accident in Central Texas.
College Station police say the wrecks happened before dawn Sunday.
Lt. Steve Brock says an officer on patrol saw a truck traveling the wrong way on a highway, turned around and began pursuing the truck.
Brock says the truck hit an oncoming tractor-trailer rig. The truck driver, 27-year-old Frank James Douglass IV of Navasota, was ejected and killed. Two people in the big rig were treated for minor injuries.
Another officer was stopped at the accident scene when a car rear-ended his police vehicle and rolled. Brock says that driver, 33-year-old Marcus Dwayne Ewing of Navasota, died at the scene. The officer suffered minor injuries.
