Saugus man dies in crash into truck in Andover Near Massachusetts
A Saugus man died in a car accident on Interstate 93 southbound near Interstate 495, when his sport-utility vehicle rear-ended a tractor-trailer shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday, according to state police.State police identified the victim late Monday morning as Louis Kardoose, 37.According to police, Kardoose was driving in the right lane when he hit a Freightliner truck driven by a 34-year-old North Carolina man. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.Kardoose suffered fatal injuries. The truck driver was not injured.No charges have been filed.The two rightmost lanes of I-93 and the breakdown lane at the crash site were closed for just under three hours to accommodate the rescue response, crash investigation and removal of debris. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Andover Fire Department and the Highway Division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
