ROCKFORD, IL : Multi-vehicle collision sends four to Rockford hospitals at South Alpine Road and Harrison Avenue on Sunday, 23rd February, 2020

Four motorists were transferred to area hospitals Sunday after being involved in a four-vehicle accident at South Alpine Road and Harrison Avenue.

The accident occurred about 12:10 p.m.

Rockford firefighters arrived to find three badly damaged vehicles with one of them, a SUV that had rolled onto the passenger side and trapped the driver.

Fire personnel used specialized hydraulic tools to extricate and treat the injured.

Four people were transported to area hospitals. Their conditions were not available.

The accident is under investigation of the Rockford Police Department.
