After initially being suspected of drunk driving, Las Vegas police say the driver accused of injuring two in a crash may have been experiencing a “defect.”
Around 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, the driver involved in the crash was seen “speeding” near Boulder Highway and Desert Inn Road. The driver’s 2007 Toyota Sienna then left the roadway and entered a convenience store property on Lamb Boulevard, where it struck a Metro officer speaking to a citizen.

Upon further investigation, police believe the Toyota experienced a “mechanical defect” and entered the parking lot.
