State police say three people are dead after a suspected impaired driver drove on the wrong side of a divided highway in Beauregard Parish and struck another vehicle head-on. Sgt. James Anderson says the accident happen around 6:23 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 171 about 5 miles north of the community of Longville. Anderson says a car being driven by Kristi B. Poteet was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 171 when the vehicle struck a car driven by Ricky Gill of Singer. Anderson says Gill, Poteet, and a passenger in Poteet's car whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin were pronounced dead at the scene. source : State police: 3 dead after suspected impaired driver hits vehicle head-on
