Seattle, WA : Motorcyclist injured in collision with bus at NE 50th Street and 15th Avenue NE on Monday morning, February 23, 2015

A motorcyclist is clinging to life at Harborview Medical Center after colliding with a Metro bus during the Monday morning commute in the University District, police said.

Officers and medics responded to the scene, at NE 50th Street and 15th Avenue NE, at about 6:15 a.m. after receiving a report of a crash between a bus and a motorcycle, said Detective Drew Fowler of the Seattle police.

Medics transported the motorcyclist to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Officers closed all directions of traffic at the intersection and said it would remain closed for the duration of the investigation.

King County Metro routes 49 and 70 also are being rerouted away from the scene.
