MONTGOMERY COUNTY, VA : Floyd man killed in Montgomery County crash charges pending on Monday, 12th February 2024

A Floyd County man was killed in a crash in Montgomery County Monday afternoon, according to Virginia State Police.

Police say the crash occurred on Rt. 11, one mile south of Plum Creek Road.

41-year-old Richard Helm, of Shawsville, was driving a Chevy Impala south on Rt. 11 when he drove across the centerline and hit the driver of a Ford F-150.

The driver of the F-150, 29-year-old Jesse Jones, died at the scene.
