Sarasota, FL : One person injured in a crash near Riverview High School on Tuesday afternoon, April 5, 2016

One person was injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon near Riverview High School.

A GMC Yukon SUV rolled multiple times after colliding with a VW sedan at about 4:14 p.m., according to witnesses at the scene.

The injured person was taken to a local fire department, according to Hoyt Williams, Sarasota County Fire Department battalion chief. Authorities did not say which car the injured person was in.

A dog escaped from the overturned SUV but was recaptured at the scene.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers were investigating the crash. No other details were immediately available.
