Oakes, N.D : Florida man killed in crash on Highway 11 near Oakes early Thursday morning, May 19, 2016

A single-car crash near here early Thursday morning, May 19, left one person dead, according to a report released by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

A car traveling eastbound on Highway 11 about eight miles south of Oakes failed to negotiate a curve and went into the ditch.

The unrestrained driver, identified by the Highway Patrol as a 60-year-old male from Rockledge, Fla., was partially ejected and died at the scene.

The crash, which happened about 12:08 a.m., remains under investigation.
