Bithlo, FL : 60-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a car near East Colonial Drive and 3rd Street on Thursday, Nov 26, 2015

State troopers are investigating a car crash that killed a 60-year-old pedestrian tonight in Bithlo.

The Chuluota man was struck by a 2013 Ford Mustang at about 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Colonial Drive and 3rd Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Mustang driver, Tanna Discher, 52, of Orlando, told investigators that the man was walking along the roadway median when he suddenly stepped into the westbound lanes of Colonial Drive, an FHP report stated. Discher said she tried to veer away from the man but was unable to avoid striking him with her car, according to the report.

Discher and her car's two passengers were not injured in the collision, FHP reported. Investigators did not release the pedestrian's name.
