Lakeland,FL : Two killed in Mulberry crash on January, Saturday 6th 2018

A Lakeland woman and a Wauchula woman were killed Saturday in a two vehicle crash on State Road 37 in Mulberry, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Vickee Cook was driving north on S.R. 37 in a 2017 Nissan Altima when she crossed the center line at Cozart Road into the path of a 2015 Ford Taurus heading south driven by Maria Mendiola, 28, of Wauchula.
Cook’s car burst into flames. She died at the crash.
Mendiola was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where she later died. A portion of S.R. 37 two miles south of State Road 60 was closed for six hours during the investigation. Officials said neither speed nor impairment was a factor in the crash.
