BAY COUNTY, MI : Florida bicyclist on cross-country trip hit and killed in Bay County on Thursday, 20th June 2024

A bicyclist from Florida who was apparently riding across the country died Thursday morning after being hit by a vehicle in Bay County.

The crash was reported around 8:30 a.m. on M-15 near Russell Road in Bay County's Merritt Township.

The Bay County Sheriff's office says the 83-year-old man from Bradenton, Fla., was riding his bike south on M-15 when a southbound vehicle hit him from behind. The bicyclist was pronounced dead from his injuries.
