A bicyclist suffered serious injuries after a hit-and-run crash in Monroe Township, Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone reported Tuesday morning.
Jeffrey D. Turner, 56, of Monroe, is recovering at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton where he reportedly is listed in stable condition after being ejected from his bicycle on Kentucky Ave. and Milda St.
Turner was riding his orange Margaritaville cruiser-style bicycle when he was struck from the rear by an unknown make and model dark-colored SUV while entering the intersection of Milda St., according to reports.
After the crash, reports said the SUV fled in an unknown direction.
Monroe Community Ambulance and the Monroe Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Turner’s bicycle reportedly was equipped with a rear red reflector, but his direction of travel remains under investigation.
