Staunton,VI : Man killed in Nelson County crash on January, Saturday 6th 2018

Virginia State Police said a man was killed Saturday afternoon in a Nelson County car crash, a press release said.

A 2004 Honda Accord was headed south on U.S. 29 when it ran off the highway into the median, police said. The Honda struck an embankment and overturned several times before coming to rest in the median.

The crash took place at 1 p.m. just north of Davis Creek Lane, police said.

The driver, Cyril B. Jenkins III, 19, of Baltimore, Maryland, died at the scene. Police said he was wearing a seatbelt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
