Reno County, KS : Man died when truck drifts off the road north of Hutchinson on Saturday evening, August 2, 2014

A man died Saturday evening after his truck drifted off a road north of Hutchinson, struck a mailbox and landed in a ditch, according to the Reno County Sheriff Department’s Facebook page. Sheriff Randy Henderson said in a post that when deputies and EMS personnel arrived in the 1600 block of East 95th Avenue, they found a resident performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on 50-year-old Dan Smith of Hutchinson. The resident had pulled Smith from his truck after the crash, which occurred at about 5-00 p.m., he said. Smith was taken to a Hutchinson hospital, Henderson said; he was pronounced dead shortly before 6-30 p.m. Saturday.
