Bramwell,WV : One person airlifted from ATV crash reported on Hatfield-McCoy Trail near Bramwell on April, Saturday 21th 2018

One person was airlifted by helicopter to a hospital Saturday afternoon soon after an ATV crash was reported on the Hatfield-McCoy Trail near the town of Bramwell.

Mercer County 911 was notified about the crash at approximately 3:55 p.m., according to a dispatcher. The crash, which involved one ATV, occurred at the system’s Trail 15 and Trail 19 intersection. This trail is located off of Belcher Cemetery Road.

First responders with the Bluefield Rescue Squad and the Bramwell Volunteer Fire Department transported the rider to a landing zone set up on U.S. Route 52 outside the town of Bramwell.

Officer Justin Dunford with the Bramwell Police Department said the crash would be investigated by Officer J.D. Gills with the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources. Gills was not available Saturday evening for immediate comment.
