Collin County, TX : 2 injured in multivehicle crash on U.S. 75 in Collin County on Tuesday, 4th September 2018

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon that shut down a highway near Melissa, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

Details were not immediately available about the cause of the crash, which occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on northbound U.S. Highway 75 near the Collin County Outer Loop.

One person was taken to the hospital by helicopter and another was taken in an ambulance, Lt. Lonny Haschel said. The extent of their injuries was not available.

The road was closed briefly but had reopened by 5:30 p.m.
