Athens, TX : Larue man dies in accident on Monday, 16th April 2018

A Larue man died on Monday after the truck he was driving left the road and overturned, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

“At approximately 8:45 p.m., troopers responded to a one-vehicle … crash on FM 314 — 6.3 miles southwest of Coffee City. Preliminary crash investigation shows that the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, identified as Caesar Samuel Smith, 58 … was traveling westbound on CR 4300. For an unknown reason, (he) drove off the south side” of the road.

Smith oversteered to the right, crossed the road and continued north, hitting a tree and overturning, the press release shows. He was taken to UT Health in Tyler, where he died.
