According to The Charleston County Sheriff's Office, the pedestrian has succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The Coroner’s Office has since released the identity of the pedestrian as 66-year-old Mildred Bennett Brown from Mount Pleasant.
Original Story: The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says there were serious injuries involved following an auto pedestrian accident on James Island Friday night.
The incident was in the area of Folly Road and Battery Island Drive.
Family members, who were at the scene, said the victim was transported to the hospital.
Deputies were directing traffic which slowed down late Friday night.
Forensic units were also spotted investigating the incident.
Emergency officials say police, fire and EMS responded.
