Fond du Lac man involved in a crash on Highway 23 near Streblow Road
A Fond du Lac man involved in a crash on Highway 23 near Streblow Road March 25 remains hospitalized today.
Emergency personnel responded at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday to a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and a sport utility vehicle in front of Community Church in the town of Fond du Lac.
According to a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office press release, David Kindschuh, 63, of Fond du Lac, was traveling west in an SUV when he crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane. David Dilling, 57, of Fond du Lac, the operator of the eastbound tractor-trailer, was unable to avoid the collision.
Kindschuh was pinned inside his SUV and Jaws of Life was used to remove him. Flight for Life transported Kindschuh to Theda Clark Regional Medical Center where he was listed in fair condition Wednesday morning, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Dilling was not injured.
Personnel from the Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Town of Fond du Lac Fire Department, and City of Fond du Lac Fire Department responded to the crash. Highway 23 was closed for a short time due to the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
