Harris County, TX :Victims track down stolen truck, leading to chase & crash on Tuesday, July 14th 2015
Deputies took one person into custody and another person to the hospital when a chase ended in a crash in north Harris County.It was before 10 a.m. when Harris County Sheriff's Deputies started chasing a white Toyota pickup truck.Veronica Munos and her husband noticed the pickup was missing from their driveway early Tuesday morning. They decided to go looking for it."I'm like the FBI, I investigate everything," said Munos.She spotted the vehicle parked outside a grocery store on FM 1960 and I-45. A witness told her that she saw the susepcts go into a nearby business."I followed them out of the store. I watched them get in my truck and take off," said Munos. "My husband was in our other truck following them while I was on the phone with police."The victims followed the suspects until deputies could catch up.The driver of the pickup allegedly refused to pull over and eventually crashed into a tree on Kuykendahl at Ella.One suspect was apprehended after a brief foot chase while the other was loaded into an ambulance. The injured suspect was identified as the driver of the stolen pickup, deputies said.No innocent bystanders were injured but the Munos' truck was totaled."I'm just dumbfounded," said said. "I can't believe this."
