Abilene, TX : 76-year-old man killed in an auto accident in Jones County early Saturday morning, February 11, 2017

A 76-year-old man was killed in an auto accident early Saturday morning.

Richard Demoore was pronounced dead at the scene by Jones County Justice of the Peace Cheryl Guernsey.

According to an APD news release, the accident occurred near the intersection of FM 600 and FM 3034 in Jones County.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Demoore "was southbound on FM 600 and attempted to turn around to travel north. As this action was taken his vehicle was struck by another southbound vehicle," according to APD.

The investigation into this incident will be conducted by officers of the Abilene Police Departments Traffic Division.
