Des Moines, IA : Adel motorcyclist dies after crash in Des Moines on Sunday, 11th August 2019

The motorcyclist involved in a serious crash Saturday in downtown Des Moines has died, police said Monday.

Police and first-responders found Austin Goodrich, 21, of Adel with serious head injuries near the intersection of Second Avenue and Crocker Street on Saturday. He was taken to MercyOne Medical Center, where he later died.

Accident investigators believe Goodrich, who was not wearing a helmet, lost control as he was headed northbound, struck the west curb and crashed.

No other vehicles were involved.
