Walhalla,SC : 3 dead in Oconee Co. head-on crash on September, Saturday 23th 2017

Three people are dead and one person was flown to the hospital following a crash on Highway 11 near Pickett Post Road, just east of Walhalla.

The Oconee County Coroner says two people from North Carolina and one from Georgia were killed in the two vehicle head-on crash.

The victims have been identified as 51-year-old Wayne Olliff of Lawrenceville, GA, 52-year-old Christopher Gene Shackelford of Mount Holly, NC, and 20-year-old Kelci Shackelford of Mount Holly, NC.

The crash happened on Highway 11 near Walhalla High School just after 6:00pm Saturday.

The Highway Patrol says the crash involved a car and a pickup truck and say the truck, driven by Olliff, crossed the center line.

Christopher Shackelford was driving the car while Kelci Shackelford was a passenger in the back seat.

Another woman in the car was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital for her injuries. Her condition is not known at this time.

Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt.

Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
