West Milton, OH : Woman struck and killed after being hit by a car south of Tracie Road On Sunday, October 6, 2016

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the woman who was struck and killed on Sunday in West Milton.

OSP says 45-year-old Tina L. Miller of West Milton died after being hit by a car. Miller’s dog was also killed in the accident.

It happened on South Miami Street just south of Tracie Road just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

OSP investigators say 38-year-old Jason L.Stevens of Huber Heights was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus south on South Miami Street when he hit Miller and her dog as they tried to cross the street. Stevens was not injured in the crash.

According to OSP, Stevens administered first aid with assistance of others until medics arrived. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say Stevens is a West Milton Police officer who had just gotten off work and was driving home at the time of the accident.

Emergency crews from West Milton Fire Department and Union Township were on scene in addition to officers from West Milton Police Department and OSP troopers from the Piqua Patrol Post. The Patrol’s crash reconstruction unit responded to the scene to provide technical support.

The crash remains under investigation.
