A semi-truck crash spilled garbage across a suburban Detroit freeway, closing the roadway.

Police say the truck rolled onto its side on Wednesday morning on westbound Interstate 96 in Livonia. Police say two people in a car had minor injuries.

Traffic was snarled during the morning rush hour period. Drivers were being urged to avoid the area as crews cleaned up the mess.
