CHARLOTTE, NC : Teen facing charges in fatal University City crash on Friday March 24th 2017

A teen is facing charges in a crash that killed a 71-year-old woman in University City last Friday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say 18-year-old Taylor Dechelle Adams was served a criminal summons for misdemeanor death by vehicle in a wreck that killed Geraldine Brown.
According to police, Adams was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry on WT Harris Boulevard when she failed to slow down and struck Brown's car in the rear.
The wreck happened around 4 p.m. between Wachovia Drive and IBM Drive.
Brown died at Carolinas Medical Center-Main later that evening, police say.
CMPD says excessive speed and alcohol are not factors in this fatal crash.
