Northampton County, PA : Three people dead, one severely burned in Bethlehem Township crash on Friday morning, May 6, 2016
Three people are dead and a fourth hospitalized with severe burns after a car speeding along a Bethlehem Township roadway crashed into a line of parked cars and burst into flames, police said.
Bethlehem Township police said they are working to identify the bodies of three people found inside the burning car. One man was able to get out of the vehicle and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest burn unit to be treated for severe injuries.
About 1:22 a.m. Friday officers rushed to the report of a crash on Willow Park Road near the intersection with First Street, police said. Police said they found the car fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters from Bethlehem Township and Nancy Run fire companies extinguished the fire and found the three deceased bodies trapped inside.
Investigators believe the vehicle was "traveling at a high rate of speed" before striking three parked vehicles.
