Orlando, FL : Charges pending after 75-year-old man struck, killed by pickup in Pine Hills on Sunday night, December 27, 2015

Charges are pending after a 75-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup in Pine Hills on Sunday night.

It happened at the intersection of Pine Hills Road and Indian Hills Road around 7:30 p.m.

According to the incident report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the 35-year-old driver of the Ford pickup was heading north on Pine Hills Road and the pedestrian was walking west across the road from the east sidewalk.

The patrol said the pedestrian walked into the path of the pickup and was struck. The driver of the pickup was able to come to a controlled stop not far from the scene.

Authorities identified the deceased victim as Lucien J. Pierre, 75, of Orlando.

The driver and the two other passengers in the pickup were not hurt.
