Oxford, AL: Teen airlifted after car crash in Oxford on Saturday, July 25th 2015

A 17-year-old was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham Saturday evening after the car he was driving ran off the road and flipped over in Oxford, police said.According to Oxford police Sgt. Keith Stancil, the wreck happened near the 1000 block of Alabama 202, near its intersection with U.S. 78.Citing the victim’s age, Stancil declined to give the teen’s name.Oxford fire Capt. Rodney Pate said responders had to use hydraulic equipment to pry the wreckage open and free the victim.Pate said the teen was in critical condition before he was airlifted.
