East Durham, NY : One dead, nine injured after a One-car crash on Route 145 in East Durham on Sunday, July 10, 2016

One person has died and nine others were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a one-car accident on Route 145 in East Durham.

State Police say the SUV, a Chevrolet Blazer, was traveling east on Route 145 around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, when it left the road, ending up in the ditch on its roof.

Authorities say 10 people were inside of the SUV, which was the only car involved in the accident.

Troopers haven’t released the names of any of the victims, but they say all of them are from out of state.

The victims were taken to Albany Medical Center and Columbia Memorial hospital.

The Southbound lane of Route 145 in East Durham was closed for approximately six hours while New York State Police investigators reconstructed the accident.

The accident is still under investigation.
