TUBA CITY, AZ : 3 killed in two-vehicle crash on US 89 in northern Arizona on Sunday, 12th May 2024

Arizona State troopers say three people were killed when a driver struck a car on U.S. Route 89 in northern Arizona over the weekend.

The crash happened on Sunday just after 3 p.m. at milepost 492, near Tuba City.

Troopers say that the driver of a pickup truck was headed northbound when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle went to the right side of the shoulder and overcorrected back onto the road into oncoming southbound traffic.

Moments later, the truck driver then struck another car, killing three of the five people inside of that car.

The pickup driver was arrested on accusations of manslaughter after being evaluated for possible DUI, troopers said.

No other information has been released. An investigation remains underway.
