Washington man killed in motorcycle crash near Unity
A 35-year-old Washington man died after crashing his motorcycle near Unity, according to state police.
Michael James Bartlett of Bremerton, Wash., was traveling east with a group of other riders on U.S. 26 near milepost 215 when he lost control of his 2011 BMW motorcycle and traveled off the roadway onto the gravel-filled shoulder, police said.
Bartlett was thrown from the motorcycle as it tumbled into the grass, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene and was wearing a helmet.Speed is believed to be a possible factor in the crash, but an investigation is continuing.
