Ancortes, WA : Driver and passenger dead in crash on SR-20 near Anacortes on Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2015

Two women were killed in a crash along SR-20 near Anacortes Wednesday afternoon.

Troopers say the two were heading east when their car left the road and hit a concrete barrier just outside the Anacortes city limits.

Both the 59-year-old driver and her 84-year-old passenger were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where they were pronounced dead.

Troopers are still looking into what caused the crash but say they don't believe the driver was impaired.
