Fredericksburg,VI : Wrong-way crash on I-95 in Stafford leaves one dead on October, Thursday 12th 2017

The driver of a van headed the wrong way on Interstate 95 died in an early morning crash, according to the Virginia State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at 2:30 a.m. on southbound I–95, just north of Centreport Parkway in Stafford County.

Police said a Dodge van exited from Centreport Parkway and headed north in the southbound lanes of the interstate and crashed head-on into a Peterbilt tractor-trailer in the center lane.

Both drivers were taken to Mary Washington Hospital.

The driver of the van died of his injuries.

State police did not release the name or age of the van driver.
