Red Lion, DE : Two people injured in single vehicle crash on Red Lion Road just west of Old Summit Road on Sunday, Aug 30, 2015
Officials in Delaware are investigating after a single-vehicle crash in Red Lion in which two people were injured.
The Delaware State Police says the crash happened around 2:45 p.m. Sunday on Red Lion Road just west of Old Summit Road. State Police say 72-year-old Edward Martin of Bear was driving a 2002 Toyota Corolla when for an unknown reason he veered off the road and struck a tree.
State Police say Martin and his passenger, 62-year-old Claire Martin, were trapped in the vehicle for about 35 minutes until they could be rescued by fire company members. Claire Martin was flown to a hospital by helicopter with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Edward Martin was also taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
