LEXINGTON, KY : 4-year-old hit by car in Lexington, driver arrested on Thursday, 11th January 2024

A driver is facing charges after Lexington police say they hit a child and didn’t stop.

Police say the driver hit a 4-year-old on Codell Drive near Mousas Way off Old Todds Road near Richmond Road around 4 p.m. Thursday.

The driver, now identified as 59-year-old Joe Davenport, drove off. However, witnesses were able to give police information about the vehicle and its driver. Police found Davenport shortly after that.

Police arrested and charged Davenport with leaving the scene of an accident.
