Three Cass County residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash south of Lucerne Monday morning, according to a press release from the Indiana State Police.

The ISP and Cass County Sheriff's Department responded to the crash on Ind. 17 near 500 North at about 6:40 a.m. Aug. 28, the release states.

The release states that the preliminary crash investigation by ISP Senior Trooper Ezariah Bricknell indicated Kevin Good, 46, rural Logansport, was driving a 1985 Ford F-150 pickup truck northbound on Ind. 17 near 500 North.

The release goes on to state that Anthony Kahl, 41, Lucerne, was driving a 2016 Dodge Challenger also northbound on Ind. 17 near Cass County Road 500 North.

The Challenger was traveling over the posted 55 mph speed limit, according to the release, and rear-ended the Ford. The crash impact caused both vehicles to travel off the east side of the road into a corn field. The pickup truck rolled at least once, coming to rest on its top.

Kahl was transported via ambulance to Logansport Memorial Hospital with a complaint of back pain, the release states. Kevin Good and his passenger, Jeanie Good, 38, rural Logansport, were both transported by ambulance to Logansport Memorial Hospital. They suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation but at this time alcohol consumption and excessive speed by Kahl are considered contributing factors in the crash, according to the release.

Bricknell was assisted by the Cass County Sheriff's Department, Prompt Ambulance Service, the Lucerne Fire Department and the Logansport Fire Department.
