SEQUIM, WA : Two die in Highway 101 crash on Saturday, 26th December 2020
Two people died in a collision in the westbound lane of U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 266 just east of Sequim, the State Patrol said.
The 1:30 p.m. Saturday wreck fully blocked both sides of the highway, according to a state Department of Transportation alert. DOT did not know when it would be reopened. At 5:17 p.m. Saturday, it remained blocked.
State Patrol Trooper Chelsea Hodgson reported on Twitter at 2:25 p.m. that the wreck was a double-fatality and involved two vehicles just west of Happy Valley Road. One vehicle crossed the centerline and hit a vehicle coming the other way.
The two fatalities were in one vehicle. Two people in a second vehicle were airlifted from the scene to an unidentified hospital.
The people were not identified and their ages and home towns were not available.
No details have been provided about the cause of the wreck or what kind of vehicles were involved.
