ARLINGTON, TX : Motorcyclist identified in fatal Arlington wreck on April, friday 14th 2017

A motorcyclist killed Friday night in a wreck has been identified as Edgar Cerrillo, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.

Cerrillo, 27, died at the scene shortly before 8 p.m. in the 1600 block of Mayfield Road, authorities said. A hometown was not listed on the medical examiner’s website, but public documents show that Cerrillo had lived in Arlington.

Investigators believe Cerrillo was traveling west at a high rate of speed when he came upon a car preparing to turn north onto Allen Avenue. In trying to avoid the car, Cerrillo was thrown off his motorcycle and hit another vehicle at the intersection, police said.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash.
