KANSAS CITY, MO : Fatal multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 435 at Eastwood Trafficway on Wednesday, 27th December 2023

A multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 435 at Eastwood Trafficway in Kansas City, Missouri, left one person dead Wednesday afternoon, according to the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.

KCPD received the call around 1:32 p.m. for the crash, which involved a semi truck with a trailer and a pick-up truck.

Investigation efforts found a Mack semi was stopped in the "#2" lane of northbound I-435 due to a mechanical issue, according to a spokesperson with KCPD. A Ford F150 was also traveling northbound in the same lane when it struck the rear end of the stopped semi.

The driver of the Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, per KCPD. The driver of the semi did not suffer any injuries.
