BEVERLY, MA : Motorcycle rider hospitalized after collision with trash truck in the vicinity of the North Beverly Plaza, 50 Dodge Street on Thursday, 18th July 2019

State and local police are investigating a head-on collision that occurred Thursday morning between a motorcycle and a trash truck that left a 27-year-old rider injured and in the hospital.

The crash happened around 6:20 a.m. in the vicinity of the North Beverly Plaza, 50 Dodge St., said Officer Mike Boccuzzi, the department's spokesman.

The rider suffered injuries, but Boccuzzi said he was unable to provide further details about those injuries.

"As of right now, it's under investigation," he said of the crash.
