GREENUP, KY : Four injured in Sunday morning crash on Sunday, March 5th 2017
A single-vehicle crash resulted in multiple injuries on Sunday morning, according to the Kentucky State Police.
The wreck happened around 7:40 a.m. on Ky. 8 near the Greenup/Lewis County line, the KSP said.
Lacey C. Glenn, 23, of Portsmouth was driving westbound when she lost control of the 2000 Nissan Altima, veering off the road and striking a culvert, sending the vehicle airborne where it overturned several times before coming to final rest in a field next to Ky. 8.
Glenn had minor injuries and was treated at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.
Three passengers were ejected from the vehicle.
Alisha D. Evans, 24, of South Portsmouth sustained several serious injuries to her back, ribs and face and was taken to SOMC.
Kari L. Harrison, 25, of South Shore was taken to SOMC for minor injuries, the report said.
Another passenger, Casey Swearingen, 25, of Vanceburg, had life-threatening injuries and was taken to Grant Medical Hospital where he was showing improvement on Monday, the KSP said.
Both alcohol involvement and fatigue were contributing factors and nobody was wearing seat belts, according to the KSP report.
Multiple agencies responded including South Shore Fire Department, Portsmouth Ambulance, MTS Ambulance, Health net and Air Evacuation.
