Tavares, FL : 36-year-old man died after a car crash in Lake County on Sunday, Nov 22, 2015

A 36-year-old Bushnell man died Sunday morning when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree in Lake County, troopers say.

Roberto Jaime Zapata was headed west on Tuscanooga Road when his Toyota Sequoia left the roadway just west of Painted Horse Lane around 4:45 a.m., said Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes. After traveling into the south shoulder of that road, the car hit a tree, she said.

It was unclear what led up to the crash. Troopers will continue to investigate.
